Jeremiah 32:27, God can do anything! Except this…
“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”
//Omni-everything is our God! Matthew 19:26 says all things are possible with God. Luke 1:37 promises nothing is impossible with God. In today’s verse, God himself makes the claim. Well, actually God poses a rhetorical question. He doesn’t actually say he can do anything.
Because it turns out one thing is too tough for even God to handle: Chariots of iron in battle.
And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron (Judges 1:19).
I think more religious commentaries take the “he” in Judges 1:19 to be Judah rather than the LORD. That way, they can say that Judah failed due to lack of faith or obedience (or something like that), not any deficiency on God’s part.
Yes, amen the blame is totally impossible to put on God, The reason would be human frailty and not the father of all creation
TOTALLY AGREE
Well, I actually read it that way too, “he” is Judah. But it still reads pretty simply to me, ha…Judah was able to drive out the mountain folk because God was helping, yet the valley people were still too much. Maybe God’s contribution was a bit lackadaisical? The verse is a puzzle and the context doesn’t help.
The problem was with Judah and not God!!
The problem was with Judah and not God!! The valley people not driven out was the fault of Judah and not the Lord, praise his name forever
Anything is possible with GODS ASSISTANCE
